In excess of 500 men with connections to Grey County, Ontario made the supreme sacrifice as a consequence of serving in The Great War (1914-1918). These men left behind family and friends, dreams and ambitions. Out of loyalty to the Empire, they were willing to give their lives.

Who were they? Have they been forgotten?

Winfield Publishing is seeking biographical material, including: family histories, newspaper clippings, photographs, stories, correspondence, etc.

Nine Sons:
Descendants of William & Agnes Stewart in North America

William STEWART, wife Agnes BROWN, and their nine sons (Thomas, Robert, William Brown, Andrew, James, Adam, John, David, and Matthew) emigrated to Pictou County, Nova Scotia from Ayrshire, Scotland in 1842. At least eight of the sons would eventually become millers.

The descendants of William and Agnes are now spread throughout North America, and possibly beyond.

Jeff Stewart of Winfield Publishing is a great great great grandson of William and Agnes. He has been researching the Stewart family (on-and-off) for the past fifteen years.
